Knocked down it gets up
Standing tall through it all
Beaten, battered and restrained
Through the ache
With a pain so forbidding
So strong it could suffocate
Dragging on deeper and deeper
But still it doesn’t die
Repressed it stands
Provoked it retaliates
And yet some let it wither
Even living as if it doesn’t exist
As if it’s not there and then it shouts
WAKE UP
Seize it by the hand
And never let go
The time for being held back has passed
The bonds of man can no longer contain me
For I am more than just flesh
I am dreams, ideals
Hope and faith
I am the reason why men become martyrs
I am your voice, your thoughts, your goals
I am freedom
I am . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
FREEWILL
